They’re back! I have been watching turkey vultures for years. Turkey Vultures won’t win any “Most Beautiful Bird” contests but they are impressive when they soar. Their arrival is right on time; lots of dead dinners are found as the snow is melting off.
Here are some interesting facts:
- Vulture’s featherless heads keep them clean as they consume their dead dinners.
- Their strong stomach acids can kill the dangerous cholera and anthrax bacteria.
- Vultures can’t sing. They can only grunt and hiss.
Welcome back Vultures. Nature’s clean-up crew is back on the job.
