Chuck… in trouble AGAIN!. This dog! Chuck ran away from home and managed to come home with a really badly torn paw. Now, we are all playing nurse to this crazy, sweet dog. After ten stitches and a big veterinary bill, I am happy to report that Chuck’s paw is healing nicely. We are dressing this wound everyday. Our vet, Dr. D. has us dress the wound with a quarter size dollop of raw honey and then wrap the paw with a cotton bandage and first aid tape. Honey has wonderful antibacterial properties and helps draw the fluid out of the wound. The honey wraps are working really well.
Another amazing honey story from our veterinarian…when she was a girl, our veterinarian had a pet duck. Somehow the duck managed to tear half of the breast muscle off of the keel bone. Dr. D’s mother poured honey on the wound, cut the toe out of a tube sock, pulled the sock over the ducks body and waited. The duck healed up and lived for five more years! Amazing stuff!
Anyone else have a honey healing story?
